Japanese Language Classes
We offer Japanese language classes and Business Japanese classes at our HUB from Monday to Friday. The classes are being conducted by native Japanese and Indian teachers. We also offer online classes.
The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has five levels starting with the fundamental level at N5, going up to N1 which is native-level proficiency. We offer Japanese language classes up to N2. The descriptions of each proficiency level are given below.
N5: The ability to understand some basic Japanese.
- This level enables the learner to read and understand typical expressions and sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji.
- Here the learner is able to listen and comprehend conversations about topics regularly encountered in daily life situations, and is able to pick up necessary information from short conversations spoken slowly.
N4: The ability to understand basic Japanese.
- The learner/student is able to read and understand passages on familiar daily topics written in basic vocabulary and kanji.
- The learner/student is able to listen and comprehend conversations encountered in daily life and broadly follow their contents, provided that they are spoken slowly.
N3: The ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations to a certain degree.
- The learner/student is able to read and understand written content with specific contents concerning everyday topics.
- The learner is also able to grasp information such as newspaper headlines.
- The learner is able to listen and comprehend conversations in everyday situations, spoken at almost-natural speed, and is able to follow their contents as well as grasp the relationships among the people involved.
N2: The ability to understand Japanese used in everyday situations, and in a variety of circumstances.
- The learner is able to read materials written clearly on a variety of topics, such as articles and commentaries in newspapers and magazines, and comprehend their contents.
- The learner is also able to read written material on general topics, follow their narratives and understand the intent of the writers.
- The learner is able to comprehend orally presented materials such as coherent conversations and news reports, spoken at almost natural speed in day to day situations as well as in a varied settings, and is able to follow their ideas and comprehend their contents. The learner is also able to understand the relationships among the people involved and the essential points of the presented materials
